Scanner Art

Using your scanner to create scanner art can be a lot of fun and is very simple to do also. Use your creativity to come up with some interesting ideas on your next art piece.

Let the kids try and they will have a blast finding objects to scan.

Follow these easy steps and you will be on your way to creating your own artwork!

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Your room needs to be dark. Think of it as a dark room. I usually wait until the evening to do this.

Step 2: Open your flatbed scanner and set your object on the glass. Remember, the scanner scans from the bottom so set your object accordingly.

Step 3: Leave the cover open. Do not close it.

Step 4: Open your scan software and hit scan.

Step 5: Save your artwork!

It is so easy and the results are amazing. You will think you are a professional artist or photographer in no time. You might even think about selling your prints. LOL!!!!

Quick Tip: Make sure the glass on your scanner is clean before scanning as this can create an interesting effect on your scans.

Here are a few of the scans that I created.
