Memorabilia Tips for Digital Scrapbooks
I have heard many concerns of what to do with memorabilia when it come to digital scrapbooking. I too had the same concerns when I started. Here are a few topics that have come up. Ticket stubs: Scan them. Put them in your books just as you would the traditional way. If you really can’t let go of the actual ticket, then simply save them in a box somewhere else. It will have a better chance of not getting ruined. Otherwise, throw it away! Baby certificates: Scan them: The originals can be kept in a special box for when your child is older or moves away. Hair locks: This one can be fun! Sprinkle them over the scanner and create a background effect with pictures of his first hair cut on top. Very cute, without the mess if the hair gets loose on other albums.(This happened to me!) Wedding Napkins and invitations: Again, scan them. They will always look new and fresh after they have been scanned. Not to mention they won’t loose their color. Kids art projects: Scan them: If your scanner isn’t large enough, you can do two things. One, you can stitch them together with your scanner and software. Your camera software might have this or you could download it from the internet. You can also locate a local scanning place that has large format scanners for this. This way you don’t have to hold on the every piece of artwork that comes home with your child. 3 Dimensional Items: You wouldn't be able to put these in a traditional album either, but you can take a digital photograph of them and put them in your books. Just remember, anything that can be scanned, can be put in your digital scrapbooks.
