In my search for scrapbooking ideas, I was very frustrated with what I found. Most scrapbook layout ideas were very creative scrapbook pages that required multiple techniques and tools that are very time consuming and costly.

Don’t get me wrong, the scrapbooking ideas that I found are very cute and I wanted to re-create them with my own photos. That is how I ended up with so much scrapbook materials. You fall in love with the ideas, but soon learn that when it takes too long to complete just a single page, you get discouraged and shove those supplies in your closets.

Just turn on the TV. You will now find cable shows dedicated to teaching you new techniques. The scrapbook magazines are filled with new ideas like embossing and stamping and scissors that can cut in just about every pattern. The list goes on and on. I don’t know about you but if a page requires me to go to the hardware store or use my husband’s tools, then it just takes too much time.

I quickly learned that I had to set my priorities straight. It shouldn’t take so long to get a single page done. My albums simply were not getting completed. My priorities are to spend as much time with my family as possible. I want to preserve my memories but still have time to make them. Wouldn’t you rather spend your precious time enjoying life, rather than saving memories?
